A WELCOME INVITATION

WELCOME! I would like to extend an invitation to join in with comments etc. and to pass the link to this site to anyone interested in reforming adoption. www.AdopTalk.blogspot.com

As you can see, this website differs from other adoption sites, boards, and listserves and the like in many ways:

1. This is not a pro-adoption site, because there already exists more than enough of those. No "how-to" tips for perspective adoptors. And no ads for anything of the like.

2. This is not a search community to reunite adoptees and birthparents so you need not write and ask for help finding someone.

3. This is not the place to share the joys or sorrows of your personal adoption, birthparent, search or reunion story. Interesting as your personal life is, this is simply not the forum for that.

4. And finally, it is unique in that it is not PRIMARILY geared for just adoptees or just birthparents

WHAT IT IS, is a place to discuss the SOCIO POLITICAL aspects of American adoption and hopefully to brainstorm some ways of moving from a business to a practice centered on the needs of innocent children who need the optimal care they can receive, and respect as they grow into autonomous adults.

Of course, like any public forum, POLITENESS is requested. If you disagree with someone, do so in a civil manner, sticking to the ISSUES. All comments are moderated and vile or abusive comments will NOT be posted, so save your fingers the trouble, please.

So again, I invite one and all to spread the word - send the link around. Let's get some good feedback and conversations going here.

If you are interested in posting full posts - not just comments - please inquire about that as you can be added as a full member. Klassyfide@comcast.net
